The vibe

Four new lighted pickleball courts anchor Summit Park, a 16-acre city park at the northwest corner of 6200 South and 3200 West in Taylorsville. Locals call it Tank Park for the two water tanks beside it, and the elevated site gives players valley views and, by several accounts, good sunsets. The courts opened in the last couple of years and drew players quickly. They sit close to the road, so wind is a recurring complaint, and there are no wind screens yet. The rest of the park covers a playground, restrooms, parking and a large pavilion, with a skate area, dog park and sand volleyball court planned for a later phase.

Practical notes

Four dedicated courts with lights, fenced, next to the street at 6100 S 3200 W. The park is open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, and the courts are free public play with no posted drop-in schedule. Reviewers report the courts are usually not very busy; one found half of them open at 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday. Access is through the gate marked with a dog-leash sign. Wind is the main drawback because the courts face the road with no screens. On-site parking and a pavilion are available.

4 nice new courts with lights. Usually not very busy. Unfortunately there are no wind screens and the courts are right next to the road so wind can become an annoying issue most days.

Great Park to play Pickleball, Tennis, or Soccer Tennis!! Sunset is beautiful, park opens at 6:00am and closes at 10:00pm every night.
