Farmington Gymnasium is a city recreation center that runs pickleball both indoors and out, set inside Farmington's regional park south of Station Park. The outdoor courts sit behind the building, and reviewers describe a busy, organized scene: players follow a waiting-teams rotation, courts stay swept, and lights handle evening and late play. Indoors, multi-use courts are shared with basketball and volleyball, which means pickleball moves outside in warm months and back inside when weather turns. The city also runs leagues, clinics, and mixers coordinated through its recreation staff. One reviewer summed it up plainly: the pickleball scene here is pretty hot.
Outdoor courts #1 and #2 rent for $12.00 per 2-hour block ($14.00 non-resident); reserve by calling 801-939-9229, at least 24 hours ahead and no more than two weeks out. Indoor single-court (hoop) rental runs $13.00 ($20.00 non-resident). Reviewers report morning open play as early as 6 a.m. and lighting-on-demand for evening sessions. Leagues and 90-minute clinics cost $32.00 resident ($42.00 non-resident); evening crash courses are $10.00 ($15.00). Paddles are available for program participants. Lots of parking. Hours run 5:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, to 8 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday.
What locals say
“Parking is usually ok. Pickleball players mostly follow the waiting teams rule of rotation. Courts are well built and lighting on demand works very well for evening play. The nearby playground can be noisy (DING DING DING...)”
“I've only used the Pickleball courts behind this gym, but they're FABULOUS. Super convenient due to lights that turn in at night, they have a good number of courts, and of is open until quite late (11:00 PM!). They also have some fun little community tournaments, and paddle rentals inside the gym.”
“$3 for non-Farmington residents. $2 for residents. Pickleball open play in the mornings, as early as 6. Quality, clean facility. Friendly staff. Wish the dance music wasn't so loud but it's only for an hour, so whatever.”
