Pickleball here is one piece of a 30-acre West Haven recreation complex, not the main event, and that works in players' favor. The courts sit alongside baseball and softball diamonds, sand volleyball, a basketball court, soccer fields, a rodeo arena, two pavilions, and a large playground. Regulars describe a friendly, welcoming scene where drop-in games come together easily. One player who stopped through on a road trip got matched into a game with a local couple within minutes. Because the park spreads across so much open ground, the courts rarely feel crowded even when the rest of the park is busy with family events and ball games.
Reviewers count eight outdoor pickleball courts, and one regular notes that even on busy days there is usually room to find a spot. The courts are city-owned and free to use, with park hours running 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Parking is plentiful across the park, though it fills during large events like West Haven Days. The park sits at 2850 W 3300 S. Restrooms are at the pavilions, but several visitors note they sit a long walk from the courts and playground. No published drop-in schedule; play is informal and first-come.
What locals say
“I've really only used the pickleball courts here, but they're very well maintained and there are several of them. I've been here when it's busy and there's still room for everyone. I'm sure there are times when that's not true, but the 8 courts makes it easy to find a place to play.”
“Fun park to visit on summer days. We play pickle ball here often and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Lots of space for kids and family events along with a variety of game courts!”
“just stopping off for game of pickleball as we were passing thru to S. Utah. Met and played with very friendly young couple, Peyton and Sydney. nice courts.”
