Vernon Worthen Park sits at 300 S 400 E in downtown St. George, across the street from the city recreation center, and it pairs six pickleball courts with a large family park. The city lists it as one of four municipal pickleball sites, alongside the 33-court Little Valley complex, Bloomington Park, and Ledges Park. Reviewers describe the courts as a steady draw with covered benches and views of the surrounding red rock, set among open lawns, mature trees, playgrounds, and a parking lot on the pickleball side. Farmers markets and concerts run in the park through the year, so expect a busy, social setting rather than a quiet club.
Six outdoor courts, free to use when not booked for city programs. The city runs leagues and instruction here and asks drop-in players to check with the on-site attendant or instructor during scheduled sessions to confirm courts are open. Reservations can be made through the city system at reservations.sgcity.org, and non-city events may also require a special event permit displayed on the court. Parking sits on the side nearest the courts. Park hours run roughly 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, with later morning openings on weekends. For court questions, the Parks Department line is 435-627-4530.
