Adult pickleball here runs as a morning drop-in program inside the gymnasium at West Valley City's 96,000-square-foot Family Fitness Center, a city-run recreation building in Centennial Park that opened in 1999. The courts share the gym with basketball and the rest of the facility's lineup: a lap pool, a leisure pool with an indoor waterslide, racquetball courts, an indoor track, a rock climbing wall, and weight and cardio areas. This is an indoor play setting tied to the rec center's hours and programming, not a standalone court complex, so the pickleball experience depends on the gym schedule and whether nets are up that morning.
Courts are indoor, set up in the gymnasium. Drop-in play runs mornings: Monday and Friday 6:45 to 10:00 AM, Tuesday through Thursday 6:30 to 10:00 AM, and Saturday 6:30 to 7:30 AM, with no Sunday play. Call ahead at 801-955-4000 to confirm nets are set up, since the gym schedule can change without notice. No equipment is required to start. Ask the front desk for the pickleball bag, a starter kit with paddles and balls. Access is through the fitness center; check the membership and admission page for current fees.
