Shooting Star Park is a neighborhood park in southeastern Washington City with two outdoor pickleball courts, a quiet setting away from the bigger St. George complexes. The city built it in 2019 on Black Brush Drive amid new residential development, and the courts sit alongside a large grassy field, a playground, a half basketball court, a pavilion with restrooms, and a sidewalk loop that circles the whole park. Players describe it as a useful backup when the courts at busier, better-known parks fill up. The setting suits families: the perimeter path keeps kids on bikes and scooters in view from the courts the entire way around.
Two outdoor hard courts with permanent lines and nets, lighted for play until 10 p.m. Free and first-come, first-served; courts cannot be reserved. Park hours run 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. On-site amenities include a pavilion with restrooms, a playground, a half basketball court, and a walking trail around the grassy field. Parking and access are through the surrounding neighborhood at 1320 E Black Brush Dr. Shade is limited, so morning and evening play is more comfortable in warm months.
What locals say
“A couple of good pickleball courts for when all the others at the bigger more well known parks are full.”
