Canyon View Park is a city park in Santa Clara with four pickleball courts that began life as the park's old tennis surface. The courts sit inside a full neighborhood park: a playground, sand volleyball, the Spence Gunn ball field, a large pavilion, restrooms, and open grass under red rock cliffs. The pickleball surface is unusual for the area, laid in play tile rather than poured concrete, and one court doubles for tennis and volleyball. Players who have driven around town looking for open courts tend to end up here. The setting is quiet and family oriented, with the courts a short walk from parking.
Four pickleball courts plus one tennis court, surfaced in play tile rather than concrete, with lights and two adjustable basketball hoops nearby. The courts are reservable through the Santa Clara Parks Department at 435-673-6712 ext. 219, and otherwise open to public play. Park hours run 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Parking is a mix of a small paved lot and a gravel or dirt overflow lot toward the back, which can fill during busy family hours. Restrooms, a drinking fountain, and a large pavilion are on site.
What locals say
“There is one tennis court and 4 pickle ball courts with two adjustable basketball hoops and lights.”
“We drove around town looking for a pickleball court and this was the only one with open space. The surface was different and the parking lot was gravel but it was still a great experience for us inexperienced players.”
