An eight-court pickleball facility that opened in April 2024, set inside Roy's busy George E. Wahlen Park alongside tennis, basketball, ball fields, a large playground, and a summer splash pad. The courts were built as a standalone block, placed away from nearby homes to keep paddle noise down, with permanent striping and nets rather than shared lines taped over a tennis court. The surrounding park draws families all day, so the pickleball area sits within a lively, well-kept setting rather than a quiet corner. The 12.68-acre park runs year-round and the courts are free to use.
Eight dedicated outdoor courts on a post-tensioned concrete slab with an acrylic surface, permanent nets, fencing, shade structures, and lights per the city's construction scope. Play is free with no reservation listed. The park is open daily 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Parking is on site, though several reviewers note GPS sometimes routes drivers through neighboring business lots that do not connect to the park lot, so follow signs to 4200 S 2175 W. The grounds get hot and exposed midday with limited mature-tree shade; mornings and evenings are cooler.
What locals say
“Pickleball court, tennis, basketball, fields for soccer and lacrosse. Great kids park and a small water feature. Also has a great covered picnic table spot for eating out of the sun.”
