Highland Family Park is Highland's flagship park, and its pickleball heart is the Mountain Ridge complex: eight post-tensioned, lighted courts that opened in fall 2023 on the 17-acre site west of Mountain Ridge Junior High. The build came with six pavilions, paddle racks, and water fountains, and the courts already host the Highland Fling tournament, which drew more than 200 players and 376 games over three days in its first year. The rest of the park keeps the family energy reviewers describe: playground, basketball, ball fields, and walking paths, so games run alongside birthday parties and kids on scooters.
Eight dedicated courts with permanent lines and nets, lighted and free, per Highland City and Pickleheads. Restrooms and water fountains sit near the courts, and reviewers call parking ample and easy to get in and out of. Six pavilions with benches and tables make it an easy spot for group play and round-robins, though the Highland Fling shows the courts can disappear into tournament mode for a summer weekend; check the city calendar before driving over. Expect family crowds on summer evenings; reviewers say the space absorbs the volume.
