Mary & Art Dye Park is a 22-acre multi-section park in American Fork where pickleball courts sit in the west section alongside five baseball fields, a disc golf course, two playgrounds, a dog park, and a bike trail connecting to Highland Glen Park. The pickleball scene runs serious in the morning: competitive play starts at 5 AM in warm weather, with a well-respected queue system. Monday mornings are the busiest, tapering through the week. Demand outstrips supply, and multiple reviewers wish for more courts. The park was officially renamed from "Art Dye Park" on May 27, 2025, restoring Mary Dye's name 40-plus years after her husband Arthur's 1979 land-donation agreement required it.
Practical notes
Mornings are competitive from 5 AM onward; the queue system is well-respected and rotation is efficient. Friday afternoons tend to have open courts. The park hours posted at the city are 8 AM to 6 PM, but pickleball regulars clearly arrive earlier, so assume the courts are accessible before posted hours if you want a morning slot. Parking is generous: three lots including a newer west-side lot accessible from the central roundabout. Restrooms, water fountains, picnic tables, and shaded bleachers are all on-site near the pickleball area.
What locals say
"Great pickleball courts, very competitive play in the mornings starting at 5am when it's warm out. Everyone in the morning knows how to use the queue system so it's very efficient. Busier on Monday mornings and tapers off over the week."
"We were there early afternoon on a Friday and there were plenty of openings."
"Wish there were more pickleball courts but I'm assuming the sport has grown beyond what they imagined when they built them."
"Renamed correctly to Mary and Art Dye park, this is the best park around!"
